Honorable Mention Point Reyes Charles Levenstein Something sticks in his craw, he squeaks like an old cat, sounds like he’ll expire unless squeezed by a passing Samaritan. Can’t be words that are missing, thousands of them around just waiting to be sentenced to death, mercy not one of his strong qualities. Must be all those indigestible sexy poems written by youngsters who just discovered the clitoris last Sunday before church, wondered what to do with flowering asparagus, when the hand of God pointed to a new way to expend the long weekend, cheap and hot. Not that he’s forgotten the thundering heart, the pulsating rhythms of love in a lonely beach house in Northern California, exquisite memories now thirty years old, half a lifetime away, kept tight in a locket, photos of skinny young rebels, thought they’d found something new.
